- Tootsie wins Shannonside

There was a low turnout at the picturesque course in Carrick-on-Shannon where the conditions were perfect for golf. Scoring was modest on the day except for the overall winner Tootsie who came home with an excellent score of 37 points. His nearest contender was the captain Paraic Geoghegan who racked up 32 points to claim the low category prize, not bad for someone who has just been docked 3 shots for a score of 63 in a club competition.
There was a very popular winner in the high category when a very surprised Mark (Dozey) McAdam was awarded this prize. Mark was also delighted to hand over the baton for Mrs O'Neill's class to Isaac.

Our next outing will be held at Rossmore Golf Club in Monaghan on Sunday 8th August. The first tee has been booked for 10.00am and members will be competing for the Connor McKenna Memorial Trophy, which is currently in the hands of our captain Paraic.

The captain is making arrangements for his outing in September at Concra Wood in Castleblayney. It is important that anyone wishing to attend this outing contacts Paraic to book their place. It should also be noted that only members who have attended at least two outings this year will qualify for the Captain's Prize.
